BIG hair :)

I've had my hair rollers for a ages and tried to used them with damp hair and oh my god it would have taken days for my hair to dry. So I gave up with them. Until I watched a video by SWalker Makeup on Youtube and she curled her hair first to give it the heat, then put the rollers in straight after each curl and left them for about 15-30 minutes to cool. So I had time to kill one evening and gave it a go...

Looking very attractive here as you can see.... Not.

Sorry about the awful quality, they were taken on my webcam. But, I loveeeeeeeeeed my hair, it was so nice, and I put some of my VO5 Argan Oil on the ends where it had frizzed a bit from the curls. And put in some hair spray (which is the worst hairspray ever and does not hold - damn you Tresemme). But I did love it, especially as my hair is so straight and flat usually, it was a nice change.

Ta- Daaaaaaaaaaah!

my everyday/evening make up favourites

This is me with my close friends (the five older girls). I am the blonde in the middle. I thought I would share my favourite make up products right now, and I'm wearing them in this photograph! So lets get started...

I've just purchased the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in NC20. Which is my first MAC foundation, and I love it!! I've been using Estee Lauder's Double Wear which is completely different altogether. I love how the MAC covers nicely and helps disguise all the redness from spot scars, and it goes on nicely. I find my Double Wear kind of slides off my face and makes me feel quite greasy. So the MAC is a new favourite.

I then put a little bit of the Clinque Superbalanced Compact Makeup in 12 Vanilla on all the areas that get tanned the most, forehead, nose, cheeks etc, and blend that in circular motions lightly. I've been on holiday and like to protect my face, so it's lighter than my body, so it just gives the perfect tanned look!

I use the Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch in 2 Natural, under my eyes and its good for blemishes too, I don't think it's meant for them, but I like that its not too heavy. I've found for spots that and healing and have a bit of crust (sounds so gross but that's life) on them, I put a bit of petroleum jelly on them so they don't look all dry when you conceal them.

Next up, bluuuuush!!! Now these are quite recently purchased, on the left, Sleek Makeup in 926 Rose Gold and Topshop's Head Over Heels. I am absolutely in love with Sleek's blush, the pigmentation is so good, one touch of it and you have a massive amount on your finger. Which means you have to be so careful putting it on overwise you look like you've been vajazzled on your face! But the gold dust in it is a definite must for summer. I wore it every night on holiday, even my boyfriends Nan wore it! So suitable for all ages ;) haha!

As you can see, the gold from the Sleek blush here on the left glows in the light which, I can't get over how much I love! Once blended in, the Topshop blush turns more powdery which is a nice finish and gives you a flushed look. I like this for daytime as it very natural and I apply it on the apples of my cheeks. I don't like looking too done up in the day, I like the dewy, fresh look. Sometimes I just use a highlight and blend that into my cheeks for a 'dewy' look.

For my eyes I line them with No7's Amazing Eyes Pencil in Black, and it stays on all day! It's my favourite, I've tried so many and it lasts a long time.
My mascara is Maxfactors 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look in Black/Brown. I swear by this, I love the Maxfactor Fash Lash Effect also but I like how the 2000 Calorie seperates the lashes to make them not so clumpy!
Finally for my eyebrows I use Maxfactors Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel. I've used the Benefit one in the smokey eyes kit but it's too dark. So this is the only eyebrow pencil I have had and I have nothing to compare it too haha! But it does what it's meant to and that's good enough for me!

And lastly comes the lips, I'm generally not a lipstick girl, but it's growing on me.

Here is Sleek's Peaches & Cream 774 which is a perfect coral/peachy colour. When I first looked at it in Superdrug, I panicked at the colour because it looks very orange. But I tried it on (if I don't like the look of things I usually don't try them) and it looks great! It's not very moisturising, which sucks as it makes my lips go all funny and the colour gathers in the creases after a while. But it's great if you keep checking on it and reapplying, plus it's very pigmented. The other is MAC's Cremesheen Creme Cup. This is my day to day lipstick. But, I'm still not in love with it as I'd like to get one that is more nude as this one is still quite pinky. The only thing I like is that it's so moisturising and goes on more like a gloss and your hair doesn't stick in it! So that is a big big bonus. So if anyone knows one like Creme Cup that is a bit more nude, please leave me a comment so I can try it out! Thanks :)

first blog - my nails today

Recently I purchased some nail stickers from a work colleague for £1!!! Bargain I'd say, usually they are around the £5 area in drug stores like Boots so I was pretty chuffed with this deal and bought two packets. I've noticed in the media recently that it's now 'in' to paint or customise you ring finger only. (I stickered the same nail on each hand just to make it equal.) I loveeee this look a lot, even covering all my nails in the stickers would look quite classy (i think anyway) but I'm liking how edgey it looks with just the one finger.

I used the Maybelline Forever Strong PRO in French Manicure 76, and applied a good 3 coats on all my nails. Then got sticker happy and applied random flowers all over my ring finger with some tweezers, lastly coating it with a clear top coat. Over that I applied Maybelline Express Finish Diamonds which I'm not really sure if I like. In the light the glitter is bluey/lilac which is pretty... but when there is no light hitting the glitter, the glitter bits are yellow... So I'm still not sure, I will have to test it out over other colours.

Here is the packet of stickers. Unfortunately I think they are from Poland, but I bet you can find anything like it in the UK.
