BIRTHDAY NAILS

I LOVE these :)
I used the GOSH Nail Glitter Pot and dipped my nail in. The glitter sticks to wet nail varnish, so I just applied a clear varnish to the tips. I then let it dry and used Barry M's Nailpaint in 244 over the tips.

Took my nails about 6 hours to dry (no joke) and they were still very delicate.
But it was worth it as I loveeeeeeee them :)

BIG UPDATE

So I've had the busiest two months ever. I went off to university and was very unhappy and didn't like it. After a MASSIVE decision I decided to defer the year and come home (even though I won't be going back on that course!) I'm putting this all very bluntly as I don't want to go into it too much, but basically I'm home sweet home and happy. I have got myself a Christmas temp job, and helping out at my old job at the Spa every now and then. Just going to have a fresh start at New Year and decide where I want to go with my life! The world is my oyster.

Anyway it was my birthday on Monday and I had my training day at my new work that day and yesterday. So my 20th birthday was pretty boring :(

But I did get some loveeeeeeeely things.
Including the Urban Decay NAKED palette, more make up bits.
Some nice clothes and Converse ;)

university

I haven't posted for ageeeeeeees, because I've been moving away into a new house and at uni. Haven't got the internet for another week and a bit, so brought myself a dongle to keep in contact with the world. I was so so so home sick, especially without the internet as well.

e.l.f. haul!!

I snatched up the 50% off bargain last weekend ;)

I did find the medium wayyy too dark when I first applied the gel and powder... but after I brushed it through  it was all good!

Eyebrow Kit in Medium

Blush and Bronzer Compact

Blush in Peachy Keen and Tickled Pink

Kabuki Brush (slightly dented where it was packaged :( )

Blending Eye Brush and Eye Crease Brush

Eyebrow Treat and Tame Medium - haven't used yet.

Brush Cleaner (woohoo exciting...)

Mist and Set Spray - I thought I'd give it a go tonight when I go out, didn't want to splash out on the Fix + by MAC so thought I'd give this a go. Usually I spray my face with hairspray hahaaha!

This is a quick post as I'm currently packing up my life for University :(:( I'm so frigging scared and nervous!!
I don't want to pack up all my clothes, and leave my family, friends and boyfriend ahhh. Anyone else off this weekend or the next?

gun wharf quays!

I went to Gun Wharf Quays in Portsmouth last week for mine and my boyfriends two years, and also to find him a birthday present! It was a miserable day, it was extremely windy and wet :( But, my purchases made me a LOT happier! I'm a big fan of Estee Lauder Double Wear as it makes my red acne prone skin look awesome! But as I'm off to University and saving my money I didn't want to splurge £25 on the foundation. Instead I went in, acted dumb and got myself a sample! Anyway I went into The Cosmetic Company in Gun Wharf and I saw the Double Wear foundation, rushed up and it was £18!!! I was like ahhhhhhhh, AND it was only in my shade, Fresco. So I was like, it's fate! My boyfriend sat outside the shop as I was kind of in my element and browsed around. They had MAC's mineralise skin finish natural (which I want to try out) for like £13 (i think :s) but it was in the shade Medium Dark.

Thennn, another bargain I snatched up was the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in the colour Sand for £11. Which I loveee! The corrector was out of stock and they had the Creamy Concealer kit too (can't remember the price) but I picked up just the concealer to see what it was like and I really like it. The only problem is I find it sits in my creases, I've read the corrector is a lot better so maybe next time I will pick that one up ;)

Also I grabbed a Cath Kidston washbag for £12 - originally £18 in the cutest print. I needed a nice big wash bag, especially as I'm off to university in 11 days!! Ahhhh.

p.s sorry about the chipped nails

b-e-a-utiful dress's

I am in LOVE with these two dresses from http://www.jonesandjonesfashion.com. I was just flicking through Glamour magazine, saw an advert this site and I absolutely love the dresses. The black dress is currently £60 and the sequin dress is in the sale for £35. I've been looking for my perfect little black dress that I could jazz up with some bright heels and this is definitely the one!

i went shopping - make up ;)

So I have had real bad problems with my skin lately. Breaking out all over my chin and forehead, and I mean like red mountains!! They've been really sore and it puts me down, especially when all my friends have immaculate skin and only have to wear a little bit of tinted moisturiser and they are good to go!
All my spots are due to hormones, I don't get breakouts from skin products, at least I don't think I do! So I've changed my contraceptive pill back to one I had a couple of years ago that cleared them right up. The only reason I changed was because I thought that my skin may have been better, plus your not allowed to go on this certain pill for over 3 years.

Blah blah blah, lets get to the point, I have a lot of redness wear my spots were so I went out and grabbed the Vichy Dermablend which I have been eyeing up for a while but not sure whether to go for it or not. I bought it in shade 15 opal which is the lightest shade (though I wouldn't say it was very light!) I've only used it twice and I already loveee it. Its very high coverage and a little goes a long way so I've been mixing it with Revlon's Photoready 003 Shell foundation. I bought this a week ago, and again this is a very good foundation, especially for covering my skin. Mixing them gives a nice glow and then I dab the dermablend into any redness and basically use it as a concealer.

I also bought this beautiful coloured Revlon nail varnish in 095 Facets of Fuchsia, which is on trend this fall. Which is a very dark, almost black purple with purpley/pink glitter. It looks awesome, and it got a lot of compliments last night at a work meal.

The last thing I picked up was from the brand FAMOUS in Superdrug, as they had a half price sale!! A lot of the good stuff was gone which I was gutted about. I already have a eyeshadow palette with 4 brown shades which create a great smokey eye, but I dropped it and can't close it properly. This was unfortunately sold out as it was about £3. So instead I picked up the 'Complete Face Kit' which has all 4 colours in... 18 eyeshadows all together! Which must be the whole range. This was about £4/£4.50 (I can't remember exact) and it's brilliant. The colours are so pigmented and amazing for nights out. They all are shimmery which is great as I'm off to uni soon and will need this for freshers ;) Also there is a bronzer, blush and highlighter, a choice of 6 lip colours and a mirror! What a bargain!!!

LC

Lauren Conrad is definitely my favourite icon, I love everything about her, her hair, style, make up and personality! I have photos of her on my mirror and occasionally base my make up and hair around hers (sad I know, just being truthful here ha!). I wouldn't say my style was just like hers though, she looks very elegant, then again she lives a different lifestyle. I like a plain white tee shirt and jeans with a nice handbag, and hoodies, especially as it's always so cold in England!!

perfect nude ahhhh!

134 DARLING

Soooooooo I recently was have a good old browse at the make up at the GOSH counter in Superdrug and spotted a concealer looking lipstick, swiped up to try and and automatically fell in love. IT'S THE PERFECT COLOUR HURRAY!

Getting to the point, it's nice and creamy, not too matte or pigmented in a good way (basically it doesn't come out like a Barry M lip paint which I used to use in 101).
IT'S NICE AND GLOSSY :)
When I do a swatch on my hand it's a shiny skin colour haha!

Basically, if you like the foundation lip look then definitely pick this one up ;)

BIG hair :)

I've had my hair rollers for a ages and tried to used them with damp hair and oh my god it would have taken days for my hair to dry. So I gave up with them. Until I watched a video by SWalker Makeup on Youtube and she curled her hair first to give it the heat, then put the rollers in straight after each curl and left them for about 15-30 minutes to cool. So I had time to kill one evening and gave it a go...

Looking very attractive here as you can see.... Not.

Sorry about the awful quality, they were taken on my webcam. But, I loveeeeeeeeeed my hair, it was so nice, and I put some of my VO5 Argan Oil on the ends where it had frizzed a bit from the curls. And put in some hair spray (which is the worst hairspray ever and does not hold - damn you Tresemme). But I did love it, especially as my hair is so straight and flat usually, it was a nice change.

Ta- Daaaaaaaaaaah!

Sunday 24 July 2011

my everyday/evening make up favourites

This is me with my close friends (the five older girls). I am the blonde in the middle. I thought I would share my favourite make up products right now, and I'm wearing them in this photograph! So lets get started...

I've just purchased the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in NC20. Which is my first MAC foundation, and I love it!! I've been using Estee Lauder's Double Wear which is completely different altogether. I love how the MAC covers nicely and helps disguise all the redness from spot scars, and it goes on nicely. I find my Double Wear kind of slides off my face and makes me feel quite greasy. So the MAC is a new favourite.

I then put a little bit of the Clinque Superbalanced Compact Makeup in 12 Vanilla on all the areas that get tanned the most, forehead, nose, cheeks etc, and blend that in circular motions lightly. I've been on holiday and like to protect my face, so it's lighter than my body, so it just gives the perfect tanned look!

I use the Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch in 2 Natural, under my eyes and its good for blemishes too, I don't think it's meant for them, but I like that its not too heavy. I've found for spots that and healing and have a bit of crust (sounds so gross but that's life) on them, I put a bit of petroleum jelly on them so they don't look all dry when you conceal them.

Next up, bluuuuush!!! Now these are quite recently purchased, on the left, Sleek Makeup in 926 Rose Gold and Topshop's Head Over Heels. I am absolutely in love with Sleek's blush, the pigmentation is so good, one touch of it and you have a massive amount on your finger. Which means you have to be so careful putting it on overwise you look like you've been vajazzled on your face! But the gold dust in it is a definite must for summer. I wore it every night on holiday, even my boyfriends Nan wore it! So suitable for all ages ;) haha!

As you can see, the gold from the Sleek blush here on the left glows in the light which, I can't get over how much I love! Once blended in, the Topshop blush turns more powdery which is a nice finish and gives you a flushed look. I like this for daytime as it very natural and I apply it on the apples of my cheeks. I don't like looking too done up in the day, I like the dewy, fresh look. Sometimes I just use a highlight and blend that into my cheeks for a 'dewy' look.

For my eyes I line them with No7's Amazing Eyes Pencil in Black, and it stays on all day! It's my favourite, I've tried so many and it lasts a long time.
My mascara is Maxfactors 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look in Black/Brown. I swear by this, I love the Maxfactor Fash Lash Effect also but I like how the 2000 Calorie seperates the lashes to make them not so clumpy!
Finally for my eyebrows I use Maxfactors Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel. I've used the Benefit one in the smokey eyes kit but it's too dark. So this is the only eyebrow pencil I have had and I have nothing to compare it too haha! But it does what it's meant to and that's good enough for me!

And lastly comes the lips, I'm generally not a lipstick girl, but it's growing on me.

Here is Sleek's Peaches & Cream 774 which is a perfect coral/peachy colour. When I first looked at it in Superdrug, I panicked at the colour because it looks very orange. But I tried it on (if I don't like the look of things I usually don't try them) and it looks great! It's not very moisturising, which sucks as it makes my lips go all funny and the colour gathers in the creases after a while. But it's great if you keep checking on it and reapplying, plus it's very pigmented. The other is MAC's Cremesheen Creme Cup. This is my day to day lipstick. But, I'm still not in love with it as I'd like to get one that is more nude as this one is still quite pinky. The only thing I like is that it's so moisturising and goes on more like a gloss and your hair doesn't stick in it! So that is a big big bonus. So if anyone knows one like Creme Cup that is a bit more nude, please leave me a comment so I can try it out! Thanks :)
